Turtle Trot April update

Okay, who put the month of April on high speed??? I just can't believe how fast time is passing. Time for the monthly Turtle Trot update! And I have been a busy stitcher. The Turtle Trot SAL's, hosted by Claudette, objective is to pick 10 projects and try to finish them. Whether you are a slow stitcher, or fast stitcher, any progress is good progress to a finish. This year I hope to clear out my UFO's so I can participate in th Crazy January SAL in honor of Debbie Faris Bryant. The Turtle Trot SAL link is on my side bar.

1. I lost interest in the Tic Tac Toe Snowmen SAL when the last squares were released. Disappointment made me conside this one finished and will make an ornament of some kind with the first snowman. Maybe do the other 5 snowmen as ornaments in the future.
I picked up my UFO Faby Reilly Peony biscornu in it's place.
2. Joan Elliot Spirit of the Orient SAL
before

after
3. is a new start, as I finished the 3 Little House Needleworks Hot Cocoa ornaments last time.
This Is Joan Elliott's Take Life One Scoop at a Time from Joan's book Cross Stitch Sentiments and Sayings. I had found this hard cover bargain book on ebay and had bought it for the Spirit of the Orient SAL. Lots of cute designs in there well worth the $3.69 I spent for a near perfect condition book.

4. Serenity Harbor Sampler, By The Bay Needlearts. This is an ongoing SAL.

5. Fleurs du Ciel SAL, Angie Designer

6. I finished Holiday Bear!
And decided to replace him with Joan Elliott's Rose Goddess. Stiched over one on 28 count hand dyed Polstitches Serenade linen.

Late YOTA post

Where did the first week of April go?????
Had a busy weekend. Easter flew up on me with supersonic speed. Saturday was spent cleaning the boxes, of cross stitch stuff I am listing on ebay, out of the dining room. And stuffing them into my craft room(ahem...storage room) so the house looked presentable for dinner.
I didn't stitch on Silver Moon Tea this month. I do have a face on Fun Guy Snowballs Stocking!
He had a gazillion confetti stitches in his eyes. I kept stitching a few, setting him down, and then going back to him until the eyes were done. Okay, I have to get used to him staring at me while stitching.... Christine suggested a blindfold over his eyes.
Now to get to my SAL's. Oh wow, am I behind this month.
Happy stitching!

Hermit weekend. How I love Kreinik, let me count the ways!

It is time for the Hermit Stitchers weekend update! WOW, where did the weekend go. Poof and it's gone.
I have turned into a Kreinik fiend! Have been using the 032 pearl blending filament with my DMC floss/thread and back stitching with Kreinik #4 braid. AWESOME!!
I had limited time to stitch this past weekend. Still got a bit done. Here is Spirit of the Ornament SAL
before
 After
I have been struggling with this design. Not my usual taste, but starting to grow on me due to the colors. I am way behind and will work on the suggested blocks each week. Did get the verse straightened out as I was one stitch high on one of the bottom lines.
I received the letters E,F,G and H for the Lesley Teare SAL. Finally had a chance to start stitching them yesterday. The flowers on the E and F are the same color. Decided to do them both at the same time. Also using Kreinik Blending filament in these.
Michelle has been knitting more creations!
AMAZING! Michelle knits these with knitting needles that a like hat pins.

I hope spring is in your sights and the snow is not lingering in your neck of the woods.
Thanks for stopping by and happy stitching!
