September update, and in memorial

Hi everyone. Since my computer meltdown, and new computer programmed, I have been out of the habit of updates. I have been stitching up a storm and many things to show you.
But first. in memorial.
Years ago I had to move for work to support my son. As a result I left many people behind. At the time it was the only option I had. With 40 people competing for a single simple waitress job it was time to leave. There were no cell phones or computers back then. Every one changed/moved from places we knew. We finally connected a few weeks ago. This family helped me out so much when I needed it. Two weeks later Maxine passed from head trauma as a result of a fall. I called her my mum and daughter Karin was my bestie in high school. Karin still is. So many memories came flooding back when we found each other, only to be taken away, If I sound a little selfish in this it just my nature when I lose someone dear to me. The missing years melted away when we started to talk. So many memories came back in an instant. Things long forgotten. Maxine and family would welcome wayward kids into their arms and home. Asking nothing in return. Thank you for all the camping trips, family dinners and support. A time to treasure. Grateful that I was able to tell mum that she had helped me, more than she will ever know, when we reunited a few weeks ago. She loved life and her puppies

Have some finishes
A HAED Story Keep Evil Queen sewed into a very long bell pull banner.

SALAugust Palkolap.blogspot

Country Cottage Needleworks
Christmas Birdhouse times 3

Brooke Nolan of Brookesbookspublishing.com
created Lizzie Minon as a freebie

September Palkolap.blogspot SAL

Finished Rose afghan into a quilt. Not the greatest picture. Not really this wrinkled looking

The rose is from an old Leisure Arts booklet featuring the artwork of Paula Vaughn. Ended up stitching 23 roses for coverage.

WIP's include adding the Mill Hill beads on Country Cottage Needleworks Fa La La, and Brooke's Books freebie birthday cake freebie, for bling.

Mandala, Angie Designer. I did not finish this part. As suspected, I had a lot of trouble keeping the froggies away. I ripped out enough stitches to finish the whole thing by now. Will most likely finish the pink flowers in the corner and make a tube pillow out of it. That is if I can work on it without ripping it to shreds.... I seem to have a problem stitching repetitive designs.

Finished the part 6 of Fleurs Du Ciel. Did not like the black work so I found some lace that would work well in the spots on each side. This will be made into a large cushion, also.

Also stitching on Fun Guys Snowball Stocking this weekend. Haven't made enough progress, this time, to post a progress picture.
AND it is time for the halloween trims! Found these 9 yard spools for a dollar each at Wally world. After all the Christmas ornaments stitched this year I may be concentrating on Halloween ornaments in 2016.

Happy stitching!

Catching up!

Hi everyone! New computer is programmed and ready to go. It took me awhile to get used to this one. Have worked with laptops and not a home computer. DH bought me a touch pad mouseless key board. I found out that I am not coordinated enough to use a real mouse... Maybe thats why I am not very good at playing space invaders....

Have some finished to brag upon! AND they are both former UFO's! Finished not only one but TWO, yes two, HAED WIP's. As a result, and I never thought I would be able to say this, A top header tab for finished HAED's will be added.

Meet muchy boy. HAED QS Chocolate, Chocolate and More Chocolate. 36 count tea dyed linen, full cross, 2 DMC threads over 2 fabric threads, Artist Randal Spangler. Found the most adorable chocolate chip cookie fabric. He ended up being a 16 inch pillow. 32, 752 stitches.

Next is the 2013 HAED freebie SAL Mystic Garden, artist Ciro Marchetti, 36 count hand dyed blue linen, full cross, 2DMC over 2 fabric threads. Made into a 14 inch pillow. This a QS from the full sized Peacock Garden by Ciro Marchetti. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 19,650 stitches.
Only managed to finish one christmas ornament in july. This one is Remy Rabbit. One of Brooke's Books advent animals.

Palkolap.blogspot July ornament finish. The thread on this one is Hobby Lobby brand Artiste Satin color Peacock. Normally I wouldn't work with a satin rayon thread. Loved the color on this one and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was easy to work with. No fraying or knotting.

Here is the start of August. Again using the Artiste Satin thread. Color is Earthy.

Other WIP's include
Fractal SAL. Love the yellow. So cheerful! 40 count sandstone linen, 2 DMC over 2 fabric threads.

Angie Designer Mandala SAL. 32 count opalescent belfast linen.
Country Cottage Needlworks, Sweet Land of Liberty. 36 count hand dyed linen, 2 over 2

Joan Elliott, Take Life One Scoop at a Time, 32 count sand linen, DMC variations and DMC threads.

SK HAED Evil Queen Maleficent discontinued chart. Artist Anya Kai, 2DMC threads over 2 fabric threads, 36 count hand dyed linen.
In looking at the picture I realised that this is an older progress report. Have most of the black stitched to the top of page three and started page two. Hope to have my queen done soon. As I have her in the 6 month HAED goals challenge.

Found this pattern on the Danybroad88 blog as a freebie. Now that it is stitched I can't think of what to do with her. Found some nice finishing fabric, tho. A needlebook? Small pillow? Box top?

Angie Designer, Fleurs du Ciel SAL. 36 count hand dyed linen, 2DMC over 2 fabric threads.

Have made progress my Turtle Trot WIP's. Have been stitching even though my computer was down. Still never figured out how to get pic's in from my Ipad. Even with the Blogspot APP.

Meet Huggable! Another of Randal Spangler's Draglings.

Have to try resisting another start. Want to finish Maleficent first. Oh stop laughing... You know I have no will power what so ever. Will get him bobbined up and ready to go .
Until next time
Happy stitching!

Blogging at a stand still...

well, pictures of stitching anyway.... My big computer, old computer, went caput last weekend. Lost one of the hard drives. The hard drive can be replaced. DH elected to take that one as his computer quit in may and he has been trying to work off a tiny laptop that has no memory what so ever. What would we do without tech....
I have been able to adapt everything to my ipad. Including printing shipping labels and listing on ebay with pictures. However, i have not been able to insert pictures from my ipad album to my blog. If anyone has any hints on how to do this i would greatly appreciate the info. The compose part of blogging does not give me an option for ipad and the phone option freezes the page. Soooooo, until DH gets my new computer loaded a with Linux operating system(it only came with a windows operating system, AAAAACCCCCKKKK!) i am religated to blogging with no pictures. Missed my SFS update so thats a lost cause at this point. Although i had so many finishes that i added to my $$$$carry over. Hopefully i will be able to hit the YOTA update after this weekend.
Have a great stitchy week and happy fourth of july!

On a sad note. One of my Favorite designers, Joan Elliott, was in a terrible accident. A trailer, towed by a car, came across the center line and plowed into the car Joan was in. Breaking Joan's collar bone, ribs, sternum and other body parts. Even after this horrific accident Joan told everyone she is "fine" and hope to be home from the hospital very soon. Now, I can't imagine saying "fine" after such a terrible accident. We hope that Joan's great spirit will carry her through to a speedy recovery.

My Ami soeur Michelle is busy knitting her petit animals and I love seeing these marvelous creations.

Her superb knitted clothes are perfect in every way.

Michelle uses DMC #8 and #12 perle cottons.
Still amazes me that Michelle uses knitting needles the size of hat pins!

Wishing everyone a happy stitchy day!

Late June YOTA post

Have a late YOTA post. Linda, over at Pull The Other Thread is kindly hosting the SAL for us. The link is on my side bar if you would like to join us!
I was quietly sitting and stitching on my boy Fun Guy Stocking. Getting ready to update for my YOTA. THEN DH comes in and says "I'm going to install the new WiFi!" Cool! The old one was slow and a 2006 model. DH told me an hour installation, tops. Uh huh...... 6 hours later, with a road service call interruption, our internet was back on. Was having withdrawel because every time i reached for my Ipad I had to slap my hand. The old hand was looking pretty red after 6 hours..... In the mean time I cleaned up the confetti stitching on my guys collar and vest. While stitching I was distracted by the white snow "blobs" on my boys face. Decided to add some Kreinik pearl blending filament over the top of the lighter snow stitches. And the two gray stitches in his eyes. Much better result. His eyes have a sparkle and the light face blobs look more like sparkly snow.
HAED Fun Guys Snowballs Stocking, artist Linda Ravenscroft, 36 count linen, 2x2, full cross
Getting to the point where I can get a good run at his wings. Hope to have these two pages done for my HAED goals this year.

Thanks for stopping in!
